For as long as I can remember, there’s been a kind of motor running inside me — humming quietly in the background, pushing me to go faster, do more, figure it out, get it done.
Even in healing, I’ve felt it… that urge to hurry through the hard parts so I could finally “arrive” somewhere better.
But recently, something shifted.
Maybe it was the bronchitis, the forced rest, the stillness I didn’t ask for but secretly needed.
Maybe it was the book I’ve been reading about being a highly sensitive person — and the way it gave voice to the parts of me that never felt fully acknowledged.
Or maybe it was the moment I put my hand on my chest, breathed, and told myself:
“You don’t have to speed up to shift gears. You’re allowed to slow down and still move forward.”
That sentence changed something for me.
✨ What Slowing Down Has Given Me
- More presence in small things — a sip of tea, a breath of sea air, the way my inner child responds to gentleness.
- More compassion for others who are moving at their own sacred pace.
- More clarity in my decisions — because I’m no longer rushing to escape discomfort, I’m responding with wisdom.
🌀 Maybe You’ve Felt This Too…
Maybe there’s a motor running in you too — that constant hum of “I should be doing more.”
If so, I invite you to pause and ask yourself:
What happens if I trust that slowing down isn’t falling behind… it’s coming home?
You’re allowed to rest.
You’re allowed to breathe.
You’re allowed to evolve… without racing toward it.
With love,
RuthieAnn
Until next time, may your inner light guide you, your breath anchor you, and your heart remind you: healing is always possible.
