Hypnosis

What is hypnosis??

You could probably ask several professional hypnotists, psychologists, professors who use hypnosis in their clinical work for their opinions/definition of hypnosis and I am fairly confident that you will get a different answer from each person

In my opinion, hypnosis is a state of focused attention, heightened suggestibility, and deep relaxation often induced by a trained practitioner. In this state, individuals may be more open to accepting and acting upon suggestions which can allow for behavioral and/or cognitive changes.

Hypnosis is NOT mind control, as individuals in hypnosis still retain their free will and cannot be forced to act against their morals. It’s also not a magical state; rather, it’s a natural phenomenon harnessing the power of suggestion and the mind-body connection. While it can be very therapeutic, its effectiveness varies among each individual, and it’s not a cure-all solution for all mental or physical health issues.

Keep in mind that it is YOU that allows yourself to go into hypnosis; I just guide you there. And once we get there, we can make changes that will be beneficial for you.

I often use the words hypnosis and trance interchangeably. We go in and out of trance-like states frequently during everyday life. Examples include daydreaming, getting lost in thought while performing routine tasks, becoming deeply engrossed in a book or movie, or experiencing highway hypnosis while driving a familiar route. These states involve a temporary shift in attention and consciousness and our mind has the innate ability to alter awareness and suggestibility regularly throughout the day. It’s something that happens naturally.
